The Foothills Grove is planted with trees removed from Boise’s Basque Center when it was renovated in 2000. Here you may find an old Basque Sheepherders wagon and a labyrinth.
Labyrinths, a spiral design with only one path in and out, have existed in human culture for over 4,000 years. Used for meditation, personal reflection, connecting with nature, and prayer; labyrinths have played a role in a wide range of religions. Labyrinths represent the journey of life. The double spiral design of this one represents a meandering, circuitous journey which sometimes diverts you from your goal, but ultimately leads you to the center and back into the world.
