17. Camas Lily/Sacajawea

Camas Lily/Sacajawea

Rusty Talbot cast this bronze statue of Sacajawea in 2006.

This sculpture of Sacajawea shows her holding camas lilies. The human model for the statue was a lateral descendant of Sacajawea. The plaque at the base reads: “Honoring the Past Cherishing the Future.”

When you climb up the sandstones rocks behind the Sacajawea statue, you will find the Wilderness Trail.  The trail connects the Mountain habitat area to the Wetlands area.  Along this narrow path you will see a variety of Boise Foothill native plants and evidence of habitat restoration work.
