25. Meditation Garden

Meditation Garden

The Meditation Garden is one of the first garden areas established. The theme of this garden area is tranquility, please note the shade, water, and plantings.  In reality, this is one of the most busy, energized sites on the grounds. It is used for large weddings, Bug Day, Tai Chi classes, and Great Garden Escape concerts.

The large sandstone monolith by the small pond with the curved bridge is from the Table Rock quarry and is roughly in the shape of Idaho. It weighs between 8 -10 tons. The basalt around the ponds is from the desert site of the new penitentiary.  Near the covered, wooden swing is a Red Oak tree, planted by local businessman J.R. Simplot.
